Save ERDC
Join our ONE Voice for Child Care partners in our efforts
to save the Oregon ERDC program for low-income working
families who have not recently left the TANF program.

Collaborate
Work with us to change attitudes and policies and to
promote professional standards and better compensation
and working conditions. OregonAEYC is represented on
state policy bodies including the Childhood Care and
Education Coordinating Council and the Early Childhood
Initiatives Advisory Committee. We participate in collaborative
efforts to ensure quality care and education for all
young children.
OregonAEYC has been active in such past policy initiatives
as:
- Increasing standards for child care center and certified
family home licensing
- Establishing standards for family child care
- Adding the early childhood endorsement to the licensure
for public school teachers
- Expansion of training opportunities and requirements
for child care
- Creation and expansion of the Oregon Head Start
Pre-kindergarten program

Oregon's Legistature is now in session working on the
biennial budget and other issues. Visit their website
to learn more about the legislative process. You can
do a search with your address to find out who your legislators
are. Sign up for legislative updates on topics of interest
to you, track bills, or contact your legislators. Check

A collaboration of organzations concerned with
child care issues, has developed a Legislative

Federal Policy Issues
Most of the funding for child care in Oregon, other
than the fees paid by parents, comes from the federal
government. For information on public policy issues
