to Conference Main Page
Q: DOES OAEYC ACCEPT PURCHASE ORDERS?
A: Yes! Please indicate method of payment with your conference
registration, including a purchase order number and billing information.
Q: WHAT
IF THERE IS NOT ENOUGH TIME
FOR MY PROGRAM TO PROCESS
A PAYMENT CHECK BEFORE THE
EARLY REGISTRATION DEADLINE?
A: If
your program takes weeks to
process payment checks,
make copies of your registration
forms and send them directly
to OAEYC by the early registration
deadline. Send a note indicating
that you have sent the originals
for payment processing. This
way we can start the registration
process. Prior to the conference,
check with your business office
to be sure it has completed
processing the payment check.
Q: IS
MEMBERSHIP INCLUDED IN
THE CONFERENCE FEES?
A: No. If your membership is not current or if
you want to become a member, you may include your membership
dues with your conference fees. Regular membership dues
are $60.00. Students may join for $55.00. Comprehensive
membership is $100.00. If your program will pay the
non-member fee and you wish to become a member, simply
enclose a personal check for the difference between
the non-member registration and the combined membership
and member registration. REMEMBER: MEMBERSHIP IS IN
THE NAME OF AN INDIVIDUAL ONLY.
Q: IS
CHILD CARE PROVIDED AT THE
CONFERENCE?
A: We feel that
your child will do best with
someone she or he knows. Some
participants bring spouses
or friends with them to watch
their children, but it can
be a long day for young children.
Q: MAY
I BRING MY INFANT?
A: We
know that infants may need
to stay close to their mothers.
If your baby gets fussy, we
ask you to respect the needs
of others. You may want to
go to a quiet area to relax
until your infant is settled.
Q: ARE YOU ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE
PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS?
A: OAEYC supports the right of equal access to
this conference and makes every effort to ensure this
access. The building is wheel chair accessible. Requests
for other accommodations must be received by April 1st,
so we have time to secure appropriate services. Call
503-233-0190 or 1-800-452-3610 or email
us.
Q: IS
MY WORKSHOP APPLICABLE TOWARD
MY CDA CERTIFICATION?
A: OAEYC workshops are not CDA certified as this
can only be done as part of a program planned with your
CDA Advisor. Please consult with your CDA Advisor or
call the CDA Office 1-800-424-4310 for more information.
We provide individual certificates for each workshop
which include clock hours, core knowledge categories
and workshop description to help with the approval process.
Q: DO
THE WORKSHOPS MEET THE STATE
CHILD CARE TRAINING HOUR
REQUIREMENTS?
A: YES!
Every participant will receive
a certificate
of attendance at the END of
each workshop. Presenters have
a lot going on, so you may
need to remind them about your
certificates.
Q: I
WANT TO COME, BUT I CAN’T
AFFORD THE FULL FEE! CAN YOU
HELP?
A: There are several avenues for getting financial
assistance: see information regarding conference grants
on Registration Information page. OAEYC membership grants
are limited so apply no later than April 1st. OAEYC
gives a maximum of two per program as funds allow.
Volunteer Hosts are
needed to distribute and collect evaluation forms, distribute
certificates of attendance and assist the presenter
in other ways. Volunteer Hosts who have not previously
been a host must attend an orientation at 8:00 am on
Saturday. If you could host a workshop, in exchange
for a complimentary lunch, call the OAEYC Office no
later than April 1st.
